Help Potty Training a Dachshund?

I'm getting a Dachshund puppy in about 5 or 6 months, or whenever she is born. I want to know everything there is to know about potty training a Dachshund. I've been told by many people that they are stubborn. Please don't tell me to spank or hit my puppy because that will only make her afraid of me.
