Sims 2 moving sims to lot bin?

I downloaded some default faces recently because I could not stand how hideous the townies were, but I need to get new townies to do this. I found a tutorial on how to get townies who look exactly how I want them and have the jobs and makeup I want them to have, but I need to put my sim in the sims/lot bin so I don't lose them (they're part of a legacy). They just graduated from college and I was wondering if I move them to the lots bin along with their house, will they lose their college education/wants benefits?
