Is it safe to shower with a piercing you did yourself?

i think the earing that you got from Claire's might tarnish cause it is not real. and fake jewelry tends to rust quicker. you might wanna take it out while you shower and then place back in after wards (sterilize it before you put it back in). or you can by a more expensive stud and i believe that will be safer to shower with. you can ask at Claire's if you can buy the earings they use to pierce peoples ears.
