Break new apartment lease?

I recently moved into an apartment. I wrote down what was wrong with it and turned it in within the 48hrs the front office gave me. Since then, nothings been fixed. One thing wrong is a pillar holding up the upstairs balcony is broken and not connected to the ground anymore. so far I've had nothing but a bad experience with them. Now, I don't want anything fixed, I just want out of this lease so I can find another place. Do I have grounds to break my lease legally without it tarnishing my credit?
