Yes it is possible it was silver, but just take it to a jewelry shop and ask them to clean it. If that doesn't work ask them to tell you what it is made of. If it is just dirty buy some cleaner from them and clean it at home for now on, but if it's fake never buy jewelry from Egypt again. I hope this helps!!
