My federal income tax check was mailed June 24th 2011, it is now July 1 2011?

I had to get paper check because the way I filed. Its been 6 mailing days and still have not received it. Has anyone had the same problem. I am stressed out just looking for answers. I was laid off and money is tight. My puppy needs to eat. I have been feeding her leftovers. Should I be concerned that it might not be coming or am I just being impatient. If anyone can tell me anything please comment. Anything will help.
